Project description

The ultimate goals are to enable networking between developers of entrepreneurship education, to create an online community of practitioners and thus to support educators in the development of pedagogies, concepts and cross-curricula for entrepreneurship education through an online platform. Overall the ENTREDUproject aims to improve school entrepreneurship cross-curricular spectrum education through a very simple and attractive platform for teachers and learners that will include teaching materials, guidelines for teachers and good practice examples (in different areas, levels and types of education). This will provide incentives and opportunities for teachers to collaborate and contribute to the overall development of schools as learning environments. Its basic aims can be summarised in the following:

Create the ENTREDU multilingual Portal, which will include of the most outstanding educational materials connecting the curricula of the participating countries to professions related to entrepreneurship cross-curricular spectrum education. These shall render teachers and school communities with more teaching materials, guidelines for teachers and good practice examples (in different areas, levels and types of education). As networking will be an important aspect, the platform will offer the possibility to establish a constantly-expanding network of teachers and school communities informed on the necessity of entrepreneurship cross-curricular spectrum education and trained in the field. This network shall operate in an independent way, with teachers supplying the educational material and ultimately being responsible for the preservation and further enhancement of the Portal.
Deploy a social data management layer that will aggregate the social components of existing applications in order to facilitate community oriented Web2.0 features related to the content, in order to use entrepreneurship cross-curricular spectrum education resources as an opportunity to collect users’ expression of preference, annotations on educational uses and objectives, record actual usage and its contexts, and support social recommendation and navigation.
Collect a number of best practices entrepreneurship training resources. More specifically, in order to ensure proper education of the young generations, ENTREDU aims to act as umbrella of best practices on entrepreneurship cross-curricular spectrum education, also identifying common success factors for business-education connection schemes. In order a practice to be “‘best practice” for the project should: exist already, have clearly identifiable aims and objectives, be user-friendly and appealing to participants, be adaptable and transferable, be sustainable and have a long-term perspective, be identifiable and capable of evaluation, be coherent with other good practices, both in concept and delivery, would be advantageous and be capable of being continuously improved. The focus is on training teachers to form concepts from entrepreneurship approached, made accessible to their pupils into such issues as plan, organize, manage, lead and delegate, work in teams, connect ideas etc. lateral thinking.
Build a network throughout Europe and empower community building. The main aim of this network will be to build a community through the ENTREDU Portal that will be interactively enriching existing content through social tagging and creating new content. This network will have dual purpose: a) to exchange best practices in entrepreneurship cross-curricular spectrum education and create a strong team sense between the trainees b) to act as a connection for cross-border cooperation and give users the opportunity to collaborate in a number of areas (cultural, educational, business). This learning culture will be implemented and facilitated with the use of Web 2.0 tools on the platform and learning concepts to support formal and informal learning.
Disseminate the concepts, propositions, findings and outcomes of the project widely in the educational, parental, entrepreneurship, technology and eLearning development, and policymaking communities in Europe. The aim of the dissemination strategy will be to mobilise a large group of stakeholders to takeup the results and create a sustainable plan for exploiting them, and further explore the potential domains of their application. Dissemination will target the most inclusive range of stakeholders, through clustering and networking with other projects and initiatives (especially Lot 1(a)), the production and circulation of printed and digital dissemination materials, publications and presentation of results to conferences, as well promotion activities targeting and involving the participating school communities, stakeholders, and the wider public, at key moments in the course of the project.
